When we speak of being saved, it is often implied that we are being saved from something, or someone. To fully understand salvation we must then identify the necessity for salvation, and the only way in which to obtain it. How certain are you about your salvation?

SIN.

a. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

b. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

c. Psalms 51:5 “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”

Sin separates us from fellowship with God, hence the need for salvation through Jesus Christ. Your best behavior is not good enough to save you. Therefore, intervention is necessary if you are going to overcome the challenges of this life.

Salvation Defined:

From the Hebrew word “yasa,” means to save; help in distress, rescue, deliver, and set free. Salvation is simply a process of confessing and believing. A man must confess that Jesus is Lord, which signifies his realization that Christ must have full rule over his life with all of His righteous requirements. This confession of Christ as Lord also assumes that it is Christ who will work and fulfill His own righteousness within man.

Next, he must believe that God has raised Jesus Christ from the dead. This belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus carries with it the realization that the penalty has been paid for sin and power is provided for man to live a life free from sin. Thus man’s relationship to God is restored.

The only way to salvation.

1. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ:

a. Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

b. John 10:9 “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”

c. John 14:16 “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
